The value of Tesla has dropped by 26% according to the Brand Finance 2025 report, causing it to fall to fourth place among the world"s most valuable car companies.

According to the report, Tesla"s total value was estimated at $43 billion, compared to $58.3 billion in 2024 and $66.2 billion in 2023. This decline allowed both Mercedes and the Hyundai Group to surpass Tesla.

Currently, Mercedes holds the second position with a value of $53 billion, despite a decrease of 11%, while Toyota continues to lead the list as the most valuable car brand, with a value of $64.7 billion, marking a remarkable 23% increase.

The calculations by Brand Finance are not solely based on stock performance or sales figures but also include results from surveys that measure public perceptions of brands, in addition to licensing agreements and other factors.

The report highlights that one of the reasons behind Tesla"s decline is its reliance on a relatively outdated vehicle lineup, along with the controversies surrounding its CEO, Elon Musk. His activities and opinions outside the automotive industry, particularly in the political realm, have sparked significant criticism.

In this context, Musk ignited fresh controversy this week when he made a hand gesture during President Trump"s inauguration ceremony, which some interpreted as a Nazi salute, leading to a wave of backlash.
