Trump Buys a Tesla and Criticizes Boycotters

U.S. President Donald Trump publicly declared his support for Tesla, owned by Elon Musk, one of his most prominent political supporters, amid declining sales and stock value of the company. This support came in a post on the "Truth Social" platform, where Trump described the boycott of Tesla as "illegal" and expressed his intention to purchase a Model S Plaid as a gesture of backing for Musk.

Trump did not limit himself to statements alone; he also held a press conference in front of the White House, where the area was transformed into what resembled a Tesla car exhibition, including the Cybertruck model. The president sat behind the wheel of a brand-new red Tesla Model S Plaid, announcing his intention to buy it, while Elon Musk stood by his side without driving the car.

Trump strongly criticized protesters who targeted Tesla showrooms in recent weeks, stating that they were "harming a great American company" and threatening to punish anyone who used violence against the company. Despite his previous remarks questioning the viability of electric vehicles, Trump praised Tesla cars during the press conference.

This event took place at a time when Tesla is experiencing a significant decline in its market value, having dropped by half since its historic peak in December, with a 15% drop in a single day on Monday, before recovering slightly on Tuesday.
